If you are having trouble connecting to Twitch Integration, the steps below cover the most common causes. For a full overview of the Twitch Integration system and its features, refer to the 7 Days to Die Twitch Integration documentation.
1. Verify Twitch Login and Authorization
In-game, press ESC and navigate to Options > Twitch. Select LOGIN TWITCH and complete authorization in your browser. Once connected, your username should appear next to “Connected” in the bottom right of the Twitch submenu. If the connection is not showing, try logging out and back in.
2. Disable Smart Virus Protection (or Equivalent Active Scan Features)
Smart Virus Protection and similar real-time or active-scan antivirus features are known to interfere with Twitch Integration connectivity. If the integration fails to connect or drops connection during a session, disable Smart Virus Protection (or the equivalent feature in your antivirus software) and try again. If disabling the feature resolves the issue, add the 7 Days to Die game client folder as a permanent exclusion in your antivirus settings rather than leaving the feature fully disabled. See the “How to Exclude Your Game from Your Antivirus” section above for steps on how to add an exclusion.
3. Verify the Twitch Extension is Installed and Activated
If the game displays “Twitch Extension Needed”, the Twitch Extension has not been installed or activated on your channel. Log into Twitch, go to Creator Dashboard > Extensions, search for “7 Days to Die”, and install the 7 Days to Die Integration extension. Then click Activate and assign it to an Overlay slot. The integration will not display to viewers unless you are live and the extension is active. Refer to the Set Up: Extension section of the Twitch Integration documentation for full steps.
4. Actions Not Appearing or Missing Commands
If actions are not showing or a cooldown appears to be permanently active, check the Twitch Status Window on the right side of your screen. Keep in mind that actions are suppressed during Blood Moon, active quests, and safe zones (land claim or trader areas). If actions are missing that you have seen other streamers use, two possibilities apply: action stage progression may be limiting available commands (more unlock as your action stage increases), or the missing commands may be part of the Extras category and need to be manually enabled via the Actions tab in the Twitch in-game menu.
